Visual

At some point in my life, I became completely disgusted with my own line drawings. It isn’t to say I can’t or don’t work in pencil/ink etc. It’s simply a matter of my own compulsions and such leading me to desire a certain kind of look in my work. Then, I studied digital media and met my now old friend: photoshop. This brought me closer to pursuing my love of designs by people like Peter Saville and Stefan Sagmeister. Over the years I have learned the ins and outs of the adobe suite altogether- extending my love affair to After Effects and Illustrator as well as flash. I love to animate, I love character design and I love making flyers and promotional items. There’s something magical about seeing the screen converted to print, or watching the static begin to move.

I also developed- as most designers do- a love of typography/layout design- probably from years of wrangling web page info into pretty designs…

In the past two years, the bulk of my work has been developing new visuals for of Montreal (alongside Nina Twin and David Barnes as well as projectionist Nick Gould) and working on expanding the web presence of aerobic international. My personal projects have been leaning more toward character designs. In the coming weeks I will post some of these- and ultimately animations of these characters as well. Meanwhile, assembled to the left and right are some of my favorite flyer/promotional designs.
